How to Get Your Guest Room Ready for the Holidays

The guest room often becomes a dumping ground for the items that don’t have a home in your house. Before you know it, the holidays will be upon us and you may be scrambling to get your guest room ready for your family and friends. This year, let’s start the process early, so you can have a peaceful and relaxing holiday season.

Here's how to get your guest room ready!
 

• First, tackle the items on the floor, so you can move around the room. Throw away trash, remove recycling, and declutter any items you no longer need or use. If you want to keep something, but it lives in another room, relocate that item to the correct location.
• Use this same method for the items on the bed and other furniture in the room.
• Vacuum, dust, and clean the room.
• Change the sheets and wash the bedding.

• Add the following items to the room to make your guests feel welcome:
  • Night stands with lamps
  • Water bottles
  • A fold-up suitcase stand
  • Books about the city you live in
  • A phone charger
    
  • Decorative pillows.
